Traditional and Mini Dental Implants

If you are missing one or more teeth, you'll want to talk with Dr. Pastore about replacements that are as natural as possible.  There are only four options to replace a missing tooth:

        -  Do nothing and leave the space

        -  A removable partial denture

        -  Fixed bridge requiring the crowing of 2 adjacent teeth

        - A dental implant:  the most predictable and long lasting option available!

Dr. Pastore voluntarily extended his education after dental school by completing a residency in advanced dentistry through the VA Medical Center in Long Beach, CA.  There he worked with many of our nations injured and disabled veterans in need of advanced dental treatments.  One of the services offered were the placement of dental implants to replace multiple missing teeth.  These types of procedures are often not taught in the dental school setting, so you want to make sure you have a skilled and trained clinician surgically place these fixtures.  While the success rates of implant placement are high, complications can arise.  A detailed and thorough medical and dental history exam with Dr. Pastore will determine if you are a candidate for oral implant placement.

If dentures don't work for you, you may consider dental implants.  Unlike dentures, which must be removed, Dr. Pastore can place dental implants which are permanently anchored into your jaw.  Implants can be utilized to stabilze a complete or partial denture.  “Snap” like abutments are seated under your denture where they can be attached to the implants.  Say goodbye to loose and moveable dentures which will greatly reduce sore spots and allow you to eat the foods that you enjoy.  Best of all there is no waiting period with implants under dentures - you can go out to eat that night and try them out for yourself!

Oral Implants have many applications, so we take a personalized approach to our treatment plans to best suite your individual needs and concerns.  And don’t worry about post-op pain, because there are NO nerve endings in bone, the procedure is virtually pain-free.  Dental implants are surgically placed using the same local anesthetic as if you were having a small filling or crown procedure performed.  However, we will be happy to provide you with other means of relaxation and sedation using “laughing gas” and oral sedation as needed (see link above).

With dental implants at Pastore Dental you are custom fitted into the dental implant that best suites your individual situation and concerns.  No two patients and cases are alike.  Dr. Pastore finds the field of dental implants exciting and challenging and continues to increase his knowledge of such procedures through active involvement in dental study clubs and online case discussion forums.
